Interview: Leah Remillét, Strategist for Creative Entrepreneurs

Looks like I have a lot to learn from Leah. She shares some amazing tips in here, so read it, bookmark it, and read it again.

Tell us a little about yourself.
Well, let’s see. I live in Seattle, WA. with my husband and our three enchanting kiddos. At 3:30pm every day I transform back into a homework aiding, activity chauffeuring, dinner preparing mama but before their school bell rings, I’m the owner and boss lady of Leah Remillét International Inc. Basically, I’m a success strategist for creative entrepreneurs around the globe. My little team and I work to help big thinking creatives turn their dreams and goals into their reality.

How did you get started in photography?
I saw a blog. And that was it. I knew I had to be a photographer. So I convinced (and begged) my husband to let us sell some of our furniture and his laptop on craigslist so I could buy a camera and give it a try. It’s pretty crazy that he let me do this because at the time we were living as students in this little one bedroom cinderblock apartment with a 3 year old, 2 year old and 3 month old. What can I say? I have impeccable timing. But it was one of those things where you just knew.

Interview: Eli of UX-App, High School Teacher Turned Designer Developer

I learned about Eli from a design community, Designer News, that I check daily and I was really impressed with his journey to how he got to where he is today. He was gracious enough to participate in this interview and I know you’re gonna love it.

Tell us a little about yourself.
My name is Eli, I have a lovely wife, and we welcomed our son, Ethan, into the world 6 months ago. I’m a 34 year old high school teacher by day. I’ve been working as a teacher for over 10 years. It is a rewarding and challenging profession which has helped me to shape the direction in which my product, UX-App, has evolved.

Maker Interview: Michael Zaro of Coding Campus

Tell us a little about yourself.

I grew up in Seattle. I’m married with two wonderful little girls, I’m an entrepreneur, and I’m a Mormon. When I’ve got some free time I’m usually with the family at the ocean, in the mountains, or working in our garden. From time to time I sneak in some basketball and snowboarding.

How did you get started this industry?

I grew up pretty entrepreneurial, and always like the freedom that came from doing your own thing. I actually went to college with plans to become a dentist but after serving an LDS mission I started to realize that I like the running a practice part of dentistry, more than the fixing teeth part. So I started looking at options in business and took an e-business lecture series where we heard from a bunch of engineers in the tech and software space. A few months later I had launched my first tech startup and I’ve been in tech ever since.
